As I sit here writing this post, it's probably later than I should admit! I've always been a night owl, it's just who I am. My mother went with the philosophy of "you can make someone go to bed, but you can't make them go to sleep" and so, my late night reading habit was born!
There have been so many great books that kept me awake at night... I'm not sure I could name a favorite, but I'm going to try to name a few (not in ranking order):
1. My Father's Dragons, The Dragons of Blueland series
2. The War with Grandpa (my dad read this aloud to us, and he had to hide it each night so we wouldn't sneak to read ahead)
3. Island of the Blue Dolphins (the first book that ever made me cry, and I'm pretty sure the first book I stayed up all night to finish)
4. Beezus and Ramona
5. Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing
6. Half Magic, Seven Day Magic (any of Edgar Eager's books)
7. The Happy Hollisters series
8. The Boxcar Children series
9. Mr. Popper's Penguins
10. B is for Besty
If you had to recommend one book you loved, what would it be?
