The domains and electives below are options available to Powell Students during the 2019-2020 school year. most of the courses listed below are taught by Ms. Fox, some are co-taught with other teachers too!
3-5 Domain
Elements of Design- Explore the design model! Work with all different challenges and solve problems to create something amazing! Students will create, test, and improve many different models throughout the semester.
Competitive Minds- Come put your knowledge to work! Students in this domain will be preparing for 2 academic competitions: Scholastic Pursuit (held on a school day in March) and Science Olympiad (held on Saturday, April 18).

Aeronautics- Have you ever wondered about the world of flight? Do you have a hard time believing that planes can fly? Do you see yourself as a pilot one day? Come discover the science behind aeronautics!
Fantastic Literature- Read and enjoy great fantasy stories! Learn about the genre and become a fan of using books to escape to a whole new world!
*This course will require independent reading, and may require reading outside of the elective period*
Public Speaking & Debate- How can you convince someone of something? What does it take to engage others through your words? Learn and practice in this class!
Beginning and Intermediate Chess- Come learn the game of chess, or put your skills to good use by continuing to expand your abilities.

Protectors of the Earth- Study about the earth and work to help protect our planet. This will involve being outside and working with plants, so make sure you're interested in this before signing up!
