I had a great summer! We joined a pool this summer and spent almost every day there. Both of my kids conquered swimming and the diving board! We went to all the museums in the area and the kids enjoyed a few weeks of summer day camps. So... I was a little bummed about the end of the summer!
However, at some point in the past few days, I got super excited about this school year. I can't even tell you when it happened, but I'm excited! I have so many ideas and can't wait to get them up and running.
Last year, I was trying to figure out how to best utilize twitter here.
This year, I'm adding two new hopes to my use of twitter. After really enjoying Donalyn Miller's #bookaday this summer, I don't want the fun to end. So, here is my plan to keep summer and reading alive!
#foxbookshare will be used whenever anyone reads a book that they enjoyed and they find appropriate for Powell students. It can be just the title and age span, or it can be a full on review. Whatever your heart and the 140 characters desire!
#PGTadultsRead will be used whenever an adult in the Powell community reads and wants to share the accomplishment. It's a way to share titles with other adults as well as reinforce the idea that reading is a part of who we are and not just something we do at school.
They're both new ideas I'm excited about, I hope you will be too. Please participate in the conversation!!!
